NASCAR
Sanctioning Body
A sanctioning body for automobile racing in the United States. NASCAR is the company behind the popular and successful Nextel Cup.
NASCAR started racing in 1949 with the Strictly Stock division. In 1950, Strictly Stock was renamed Grand National, which became the Winston Cup in 1972, the Nextel Cup in 2004, and now the Sprint Cup in 2008.
NASCAR also sanctions other divisions, such as the Nationwide Series (formerly the Busch Grand National Series) and the Camping World Series (formerly the Craftsman Truck Series).

Most of the collectibles lists on the site (including model kits, die cast cars and cards), due to the enormous volume of information available, are not complete listings of all available collectibles. The driver Win Lists usually consist of major event wins, and include minor events only when the information is available.
