The legal language I need to use to protect the Library is in regular text, and my personal comments are in italics...
Much of this is all some very hard to read legal language, but pages like this are pretty standard for any internet these days because there are occasionally idiots who take no responsibility for their irresponsibility and need a warning for everything (hot coffee, anyone?). Some of the material is hopelessly out of date but is presented here to show the opinions and ideas of a certain point in time for historical context.
Articles, press releases, photographs, newsletters, audio, video and other media are presented without warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, quality, correctness, validity, or suitability for use of any material either submitted to the Library for publication or added to the Library through the use of licensed material.
What all this all means in plain English is, information found in this library is much the same as books are on the shelves in a traditional library: we merely exist to present information as is. It is up to you, the user, or in this case the online library patron, to consider the sources of the material and make your own judgements as to the accuracy and usefulness of the content. For your consideration: any good community library will have a copy of the Bible, the Torah, the Quran, and Darwin's Origin of Species, and they can't all be completely true.
Content of any type in no way represents the opinions of The Crittenden Automotive Library. Articles by Bill Crittenden are his own personal opinions and also do not represent the opinion of the Library itself.
Actually, as a whole the Library tries not to have an opinion at all, and attempts to remain as neutral as possible.
For statistics and information as presented on the Topic pages, every effort has been made to determine the accuracy of what is presented. Should a mistake be found, please
e-mail us so that we can correct it. The Library's value is as a compilation of data from multiple sources and errors can occur in copying, transferring and translating data, so if you want to ensure the most accurate data available, double-check the accuracy of the information with the source directly.
There are literally millions of lines of code, much of it manually entered, into over 20,000 pages containing information from over 1,000 sources, and nobody's 100% perfect, so before making any serious decisions based on information you found in The Crittenden Automotive Library, you should check my sources directly to make sure I copied the information accurately or get a second opinion!

Privacy Policy
We track visitor information using Google Analytics.
From what I can tell of Analytics, it means I can tell which IP addresses access which pages of the site and roughly where it's coming from. Nothing in that is personally identifiable unless you publish your IP address! I just use this to try and figure out which pages are the most popular and how many visitors a day I get. I assume Google may use the information as well in some other way related to advertising and serving search results.
Intellectual Property
The Crittenden Automotive Library claims copyright in original Topic and other item descriptions and issues of Tail Lights newsletter, as well as trademark on the "Green Wheel" logo. All other intellectual property remains the possession of its original creator. The Crittenden Automotive Library cannot grant permission to republish copyrighted information found used here with permission, please contact the original creator of the work to ask for permission.
The Crittenden Automotive Library is a collection of automotive information from numerous sources. Sources include direct contributors, public domain media, and work licensed through Creative Commons, GNU licenses, or other publicly redistributable information. If you own the rights to something that has been accidentally copied into the Library, please inform us right away at
admin@carsandracingstuff.com so that it can be removed.
I've had people misrepresent copyrighted information as their own and submit it to me for publication under their own name, and I've seen copyrighted material licensed for Creative Commons use by internet users who had no rights to license the work. If you find something of yours in the Library, please know that it wasn't intentional and I'll fix it right away without making you jump through the hoops of filling out a complaint or sending a registered snail-mail letter like other sites require.

Due to the enormous volume of information available most of the lists on the site are works in progress. They are great for seeing what information or products are available or what events have happened but the absence of information or a line item on a list should not be interpreted that something did not exist or did not happen. It probably just means we haven't gotten around to adding it yet.
Unless otherwise noted, photo captions are from the photographer or source, and not from The Crittenden Automotive Library.
