Rossi logra su noveno campeonato del mundo de MotoGP

Sepang, Malasia – Valentino Rossi ha conseguido el campeonato del mundo de MotoGP al mando de su Yamaha, y ya van nuevo títulos, siete de ellos en la máxima categoría. En la penúltima prueba del mundial, el Gran Premio de Malasia, alcanzó el tercer puesto. Este resultado le valió para conseguir el título, dado que el segundo clasificado del mundial, el español, Jorge Lorenzo, que terminó cuarto tras remontar desde la última posición por problemas mecánicos, ya no puede superar en puntos al italiano en la última carrera del año.

En un día lluvioso, debido a problemas mecánicos Lorenzo tuvo que salir desde el pit-lane con la Yamaha de reserva. Rossi también tuvo problemas al comienzo de la carrera al pasarse en una curva, perdiendo muchas posiciones. Los dos echaron el resto y escalaron posiciones hasta llegar hasta la cuarta y quinta. Fue entonces cuando Rossi arriesgó, dejando atrás a Lorenzo y dando caza a Andrea Dovizioso, que finalmente se fue al suelo, cuando ocupaba el tercer puesto. Rossi consiguió así el tercer puesto, lo que le permitió disfrutar del campeonato en el podio, junto al español Dani Pedrosa, segundo, y al australiano Casey Stoner, ganador de la prueba.

La celebración fue, una vez más, singular. Los seguidores de Rossi saltaron a la pista con una camiseta conmemorativa dónde se podía leer "Gallina vecchia fa buon brodo" (gallina vieja hace buen caldo). Además, se fotografió con una gallina viva y un huevo de un tamaño considerable con un nueve pintado.
