BROOKLYN, Michigan (June 15, 2007) - - After struggling to find a good setup underneath his No. 7 Hooter’s Energy Drink Chevrolet Silverado during the two practice sessions at Michigan International Speedway on Friday, Pennington Motorsports stepped up to the plate during NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) qualifying Saturday morning, locking the team 31st on the starting grid for this afternoon’s Michigan 200.

White, a native of Virginia will make his 17th NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start today and his fifth of the season behind the wheel of the No. 7 Hooters Energy Drink Chevrolet for Pennington Motorsports. During his qualifying run, White posted a time of 42.029 seconds equaling a speed of 171.310 MPH picking up nearly a half of a second from his Happy Hour practice run yesterday which equaled a time of 42.501 seconds or 169.408 MPH netting 33rd on the rundown.

Headed by crew chief Barry Dodson and team manger Dwayne Gaulding, the team fiercely worked on the setup of the Hooter’s Energy Drink machine awarding White with his inaugural Michigan NCTS start.

“Man this feels good,” said White after his time trials effort. The whole Pennington Motorsports team did a great job this morning. We worked hard on the setup after final practice and it showed. I’m really proud of Barry (Dodson, crew chief) and the entire team for all their hard work. We bounced back from practice and I really think we have a truck that will run well this afternoon.”

In addition to Hooter’s Energy Drink, GunBroker.com will serve as additional sponsor on White’s No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado this afternoon.

The team hopes to secure their first top-15 finish of the season coming off a string of two consecutive 22nd place finishes at Dover International Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway respectively.

White’s effort knocked ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Bryan Silas (No. 71 Nortrax-Palm Beach Grading Chevrolet Silverado) from the starting field.
