Walmart Family Track Pack Includes 4 Tickets, Food, Race Program for $99
WILKES BARRE, Pa., April 19, 2012 – NASCAR fans can save on tickets to the upcoming Pocono 400 on June 10 with the Walmart Family Track Pack. The $99 package gives families four race tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and one program – a total savings of more than $100.
“We are making races affordable and accessible for fans,” said Rand Waddoups, senior director, Entertainment Properties and Brands, Walmart. “The Walmart Family Track Pack is a great value that gives local fans a way to take their whole family to the track together.”
Pocono Raceway, known as the “Tricky Triangle” due to its unique 2.5-mile tri-oval shape, hosted its first NASCAR 500 mile race in 1974.
The Walmart Family Track Pack is available online at www.walmart.com/NASCAR and in Ticketmaster kiosks in select stores.
In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Walmart is sponsoring racing legend Bill Elliott driving Walmart #50 at the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona on July 7. Bill Elliott and the Walmart #50 show car will also make appearances at select Walmart stores nationwide leading up to the race. Trent Owens will serve as crew chief of the # 50 Walmart Chevrolet. Owens currently calls the shots for Turner Motorsports’ #30 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) entry and recently led the team to victory in the 2012 season-opener at Daytona International Speedway.
Through the Legends of Racing online engagement, fans have the opportunity to share their memories and voice their opinions about the top moments in NASCAR history, as well as vote on Bill Elliott’s uniform and helmet design.
Fans can vote online at Walmart.com/NASCAR from March 28 - May 14.
In addition to the fan events happening in Walmart parking lots, area Walmart stores will feature savings on all the food and snacks you need to enjoy the race, plus authentic NASCAR merchandise such as T-shirts and racing flags, with an even bigger selection of exclusive products available at Walmart.com/NASCAR.
Beginning June 7 select Walmart stores near the Pocono Raceway will host NASCAR fan events featuring real show cars and racing simulators– perfect to safely get behind the wheel and feel the power of NASCAR.
Additionally, Walmart stores will feature savings on authentic NASCAR merchandise such as T-shirts and racing flags, with even more items available on Walmart.com/NASCAR.
