Kentucky Speedway Recap: ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie driver Dominick Casola headed to Kentucky Speedway last month looking to better his 16th place finish from June. Unfortunately, Casola lost a tire from debris caused by a first lap caution. Vowing to finish the race, the Andy Belmont Racing team made repairs to the No. 1 with Casola finishing a frustrating 36th.

Welcome Back: Dominick Casola returns to Pocono Raceway this weekend looking to improve on his 14th place finish at the 2.5-mile track in June. Casola enjoys competing at Pocono and has utilized video games to further enhancing himself with the unique characteristics the track presents.

Back From Vacation: Casola spent his two week breather from competition vacationing with family and friends in New Jersey. Casola returned to North Carolina this past Sunday to prepare for a test session with Andy Belmont Racing before returning back to New Jersey on Wednesday to arrive at Pocono on Thursday afternoon.

Testing, Testing, Testing: Andy Belmont Racing and Dominick Casola spent Tuesday testing at Tri-County Speedway in North Carolina shaking down their dirt track car in preparation for Casola’s first visit to the dirt later this month.

Point Standings: Competing in 12 of the 13 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Casola sits 18th in the championship standings just 65 points from 17th place competitor Brad Smith. Only 220 points separate Casola from entering the top-15 in the championship standings.

Andy Belmont Racing, Pocono Raceway Pre-Race Quotes:
Dominick Casola, driver of the No. 1 A. Casola Farms Ford:

On Kentucky: “We can’t seem to shake the monkey off our back. I really had high hopes for Kentucky, but this team is strong and we proved that we would not let a little back luck keep us on the sidelines. We fixed the car and came back and finished the race.”

On Pocono Raceway: “I love competing at Pocono Raceway. It’s a very unique track, but I adapted very well to it. We had a good car the last time we were there and I really think we’re going to be just as competitive this weekend as well. The team has been hard working in the shop preparing for this race and I have a strong feeling our first top-10 finish of the season is doable on Saturday.”

On The Recent Test: “The test went really well. We just wanted to shake the car down in preparation for the dirt race later this month. I’m excited about going dirt racing, I’m not sure what to really expect in an ARCA car, but I’ve heard its some of the best racing during the season. Andy (Belmont, car owner) has a great setup for those races, so I have no worries.”

On Racing Close To Home: “Obviously, this race is huge for me. It’s only about a two hour drive from home, so I have a lot of support. The race is televised live on SPEED this weekend, so I know I’ll have a lot of support in the stands and at home. A top-10 finish this close to home would be something I wouldn’t forget.”
