12 Die in Pakistan Bus Fire

Police in northern Pakistan say 12 members of a wedding party were killed and 20 others injured when their bus caught fire Sunday night.

Local authorities Monday said the bus carrying more than 70 people was returning from a wedding in Sialkot city, Punjab province, when it burst into flames near Jhelum, about 100 kilometers south of the capital, Islamabad.

The authorities say most of the victims were women and children and that some of the injured suffered serious burns.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
