Ford Recalls 362,000 Trucks to Fix Door Handles

Ford Motor Company, the second biggest U.S. automaker, is recalling more than 362,000 of its popular F-150 pickup trucks to fix door handles that could fail and cause them to open in a crash.

The Detroit automaker said the recall covers more than 280,000 vehicles in the United States, as well as another 68,000 in Canada and 14,000 in Mexico.

The company said the fear is that the inside door handles could fail in side-impact collisions and that doors could fly open. Ford said the recall covers 2009 and 2010 models and will start February 14. It said dealers will make the repairs for customers for free.
