U.S. ARMY TOP FUEL TEAM COLLECTS FULL THROTTLE HARD-WORKING CREW AWARD

INDIANAPOLIS, June 22, 2010 - The U.S. Army Top Fuel team is this week's recipient of the NHRA Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award.

Full Throttle, which sponsors the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, celebrates the diligence and extra effort of crew members who strive to make an impact in every race, whether it's to overcome an obstacle, or the odds, to get their car on the track.

With track temperatures reaching as high as 138 degrees at Bristol (Tenn.) Dragway last Sunday, Tony Schumacher's U.S. Army team tuned his dragster to a flawless performance on the way to his 100th career final round, passing Joe Amato for all-time final round Top Fuel appearances.

"I've said it before and I will state it again - my team is the best in the business," said Schumacher, a seven-time world champion. "They know how to deal with pressure and adversity which is critical when you're contending for a world championship.

"Last weekend in Bristol, they had to work through some terribly hot conditions. But, like our Army Strong Soldiers, they remained focused and got the job done in a professional manner. Their reward was holding another trophy at the end of the day. That's what it's all about."

For their performance at the Thunder Valley Nationals, the team will receive a check for $3,000, along with the opportunity to be named the overall NHRA Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award winner as determined by a fan vote on NHRA.com at the end of the season.

The U.S. Army Top Fuel team consists of Mike Green (Crew Chief), Neal Strausbaugh (Assistant Crew Chief), Tyler Clouser (Bottom End Specialist/Racks), Ron Freedman (Blowers/Ignition System), Ryan McGilvry (Engine Builder/Fuel), Brad Morrison (Left Side Cylinder Head/Valve Train), Tom Turkal (Right Side Cylinder Head/Cylinder Head Main), Mike Vendely (Clutch Assistant/Tires/Wheels) and Joe Veyette (Clutch/Driveline).

Holding second-place in the standings, the U.S. Army Top Fuel team will travel to Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio this weekend for the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals.
