Authorities in the western U.S. state of Utah say a passenger bus carrying a group of Japanese tourists crashed late Monday night, killing three passengers and injuring several others.

A spokesman for the Utah Highway Patrol says the bus veered off Interstate 15 and into median before it flipped over. Several passengers were ejected from the bus.

The tourists were traveling from the gambling capital of Las Vegas, Nevada to Bryce Canyon National Park in southwestern Utah when the accident occurred.

Some information in this story was provided by AP, AFP and Reuters.
