BROOKLYN, Michigan (June 11, 2010) - - ARCA Racing Series (ARS) point’s leader Patrick Sheltra struggled with a tight handling No. 60 Recycling Services / Ferguson Pipe Toyota Camry during Friday’s Racing for Wildlife 200 at Michigan International Speedway. The handling woes, however would not stop Sheltra’s impressive 2010 season as the Indiantown, Florida native capped off his fifth top-five and eighth consecutive top-10 in round eight of 20 events for the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards.

Sheltra also increased his point’s lead over second place competitor Justin Marks, who finished fourth to a 35 point deficit entering the next ARS event at Iowa Speedway on Saturday, July 10.

“We didn’t have the best car today, but we never gave up," sounded Sheltra. "The Sheltra Motorsports team is continuing to do what we do every week and that’s finish in the top-10. We’ll regroup for about a month and do some homework and plan to leave Iowa with a victory. With these finishes will come a win, I promise you.”

Sheltra’s fifth start at Michigan International Speedway awarded him with a career-best track finish. In 2008, the 24-year old NASCAR bound driver finished sixth. On Friday, the driver nicknamed “Mr. Showtime” qualified a career-best third shattering a previous best of 19th, also in 2008.

A full race report will be issued in the near future.
