Will Reach 2,000,000 Mark By End of Season

(Special Dispatch to the Automotive Daily News)

Washington, D. C., Aug. 26.—The total automobile travel to the national parks and monuments will reach the 2,000,000 mark by the time the park travel year closes, it was estimated at the Department of the Interior today. At the Grand Canyon, for instance, where in the past train travel has predominated, the number of people arriving in their own automobiles during July was more than half the total number of visitors. The total travel to the Canyon to July 30 was 21 per cent. greater than for the same period last year.
