Ottawa, Ont., Aug. 26.—The fall automobile season in Eastern Ontario got under way today with the Central Canada Exhibition. Cars exhibited are Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Cleveland, Dodge, Durant, Elcar, Flint, Ford, Franklin, Hudson - Essex, Hupmobile, McLaughlin, Nash, Oldsmobile, Overland, Packard, Paige - Jewett, Pierce - Arrow, Reo-Star, Studebaker, Willys-Knight and Brooks Steamer. Trucks are Ford, G. M. C., Graham Brothers, Godfredson, National and Reo.


Minneapolis, Minn., Aug. 26.—Better advance interest in the 16th annual automobile show, at the Minnesota State Fair September 5-12, is being shown, according to Thomas H. Canfield, secretary. Most of the 15,000 square feet of floor space has been allotted to Buick, Nash, Rickenbacker, Durant-Star, Chrysler, Velie, Elcar, Hudson-Essex, Oakland, Oldsmobile, Gray, Kissel, Jewett and Federal truck distributors.


Des Moines, Ia., Aug. 26.—More space has been reserved than at any time during the past four years for the showing of the Iowa State Fair, August 26 to September 1, according to C. C. Van Vliet, manager. Over half an acre of space in machinery hall has been taken by twenty-seven passenger car manufacturers and twenty accessory concerns. The Ford Motor Company has leased all of power hall and will conduct a mammoth exhibition of its own.


Salem, Ore., Aug. 26.—Governor Pierce has denied the request of G. Hutchin of Medford, Ore., assistant managing director of the National Automobile Racing Classic Association, for the use of the Oregon State Fair grounds for Sunday automobile races this month. Hutchin offered fair officials 25 per cent. of the profits and $500 cash advance royalty.
