Cleveland, O., Aug. 26.—Optimism prevails among Cleveland passenger car dealers, based on the splendid condition of business not only as regards new car sales for August and the bright outlook for September, but also as regards used car stocks, it was revealed in a survey of dealers completed here today.
The Hudson used car inventory is now $16,0000, as compared with $40,000 a year ago. Up to August 20, Hudson-Essex distributors, the R. J. Schmunk Company, sold 682 new cars and 776 used cars, compared with 486 new and 570 used during the same period last year.
Buick used car stocks here are less than $5,000, compared with $6,000 last year.
Dodge sales for this territory show a sharp increase for the month to date.
Dodge distributors, the Barnes Motor Company, made 167 more deliveries this year, so far, than all of last year.
North Ohio Motors Company, selling Chandler and Cleveland, sold in the last six months more than all of last year.
