Patrick Sheltra To Auction Off Pink Uniform For Charity

WHITESVILLE, Kentucky (October 26, 2009) - - For the final week of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) driver Patrick Sheltra will auction his Rockingham Speedway race uniform with the proceeds being donated to Kimmie Cares, Sheltra’s charity of choice for the month of October.

The auction which ends on Wednesday, November 4 is live on EBay and can be accessed through the team’s web site at PatrickSheltra.com. The highest bidder will also receive a 2009 autograph card endorsed by Sheltra.

The Kimmie cares doll, book, from The Partners For A Cure Foundation address two critical and often overlooked issues for women with cancer - helping moms explain the effects of cancer to their small children, and helping both child and adult share their fears and feelings so they can remain close during this time of illness.

While many other organizations fund cancer research, donating money for equipment, new medicines and scientists' salaries, the The Partners For A Cure Foundation takes a somewhat different approach. Proceeds generated from the sale of the Kimmie Cares doll as well as donations collected through other means are distributed not to scientists, but to individuals with cancer. PFACF helps patients who are struggling financially from the high costs of cancer treatment and related cancer care expenses.

Earlier this month, Sheltra and his Whitesville, Kentucky based team invaded Rockingham Speedway for the 2009 ARCA season finale with a new look and new attitude. Armed with a Toyota Camry and a camouflage pink machine the team had hoped to back up their second place finish in April at the one-mile oval but a mid-race incident relegated the team to a disappointing finish. Still, Sheltra climbed from his machine in his pink Buffalo Wings & Rings race uniform proud of the team’s effort of spreading the word about Breast Cancer.

“We promised we were going to auction off the suit and that’s exactly what we are going to do,” said Sheltra, a native of Indiantown, Florida. “We’ve enjoyed spending the month of October doing everything in power to bring attentiveness and recognition to Breast Cancer Awareness. Hopefully the uniform will bring in lots of bidders and a great monetary donation for Kimmie Cares.”

The Sheltra Motorsports team through its association with TotalRaceBabe.com and Turn Two Marketing are also continuing to sell the “Together We Can Make A Difference” bracelets which create a slick appeal while raising awareness to one of the world’s most deadliest forms of cancer.

Turn Two Marketing will sell the bracelets for $15.00 a piece at the following souvenir trailers for the remainder of the 2009 NASCAR season. The bracelets will be on display and available for purchase through: 3M, Caterpillar (CAT), Crown Royal, Ford, General Mills (Cheerios), Jack Daniels and Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR).

The “Together We Can Make A Difference” bracelets are also available through the team’s web site or TotalRaceBabe.com through November 15.
