The Dodge Parts: Trademark Toughness

Anthony Fontanelle
April 15, 2008

The Dodge name carries with it an attitude of toughness and grit. It was established in 1900 by the Dodge Brothers. Back then the brand specialized in auto products, specifically engine detail and chassis components. In 1914, the Dodge brothers decided to venture to more ambitious heights by manufacturing automobiles. Their first car, the Dodge Model 30, was noted for pioneering many features. First off, it was crafted with an all-steel body. Secondly, it sported a 12-volt electrical system and lastly, it boasted a sliding gear transmission design. These features set different standards, not just for Dodge but for the whole American auto industry. These designs would later be adapted by different brand names. The successes of the company tickled the interests of Walter Chrysler, which led to Chrysler’s purchase of Dodge in 1928.

Today, Dodge offers a wide variety of automobiles, from sedans to vans and SUVs to pickups. The brand has also produced top-of- the- line utility vehicles that are perfect for construction and shipments. Dodge has consistently developed its product line to serve a wider variety of customers. Throughout their history Dodge cars have exemplified a “blue-collar” character that is upheld with pride.

The product evolution is oriented toward functionality, innovation and precision engineering. In addition to that, Dodge has also added environmental goals to minimize greenhouse emissions and maximize fuel efficiency. The company‘s mission within the next decades would be to integrate hybrid technologies to their automobiles. The list of awards continues to pile, most recently, the Dodge Grand Caravan won an award for automotive excellence from Versatility.

Dodge boasts an extensive parts line that allows Dodge-owners to express their individuality. Dodge parts perform with trademark excellence. It provides a new mantra about high-performance vehicles: they don’t have to look mediocre. These cars should look gallant, agile and ambitious. Among the top selling parts are: the chrome grille which adds more muscle to the Dodge Ram truck and the deluxe molded splash guards which serves as an unforgiving protector against unwelcome sediments. Dodge even has an mp3 adaptor that is mounted on the car ceiling allowing for an optimum listening experience.
