This coming March 6th, the Volkswagen Group of America would be hosting a job fair which would be happening at the Westin Tysons Corner in Washington, DC. Starting at twelve noon up until nine in the evening, anybody who is interested in finding jobs would be able to troop down to the venue and find opportunities.

There would be tons of available jobs at the job fair, The Auto Channel reported. Of course, as host and sponsor of the event, the Volkswagen Group of America would be having a booth at the fair for job applicants. Its family brands like VW Credit, Inc. Audi, and Volkswagen would also be having their own booths. Volkswagen also disclosed that there would be a number of different job openings in various fields like sales, after sales operations, finance, accounting, marketing, communications, human resources, product marketing, and vehicle logistics.

Mike Beamish is the HR executive vice president for the Volkswagen Group and he shared, “Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington, DC area have a skilled and diverse workforce and we look forward to introducing ourselves in person. Volkswagen Group of America is charting an exciting new course in the United States and we are looking for the best and brightest to help us achieve success.” This executive from the known car company did not disclose though if Geo parts makers would also be joining the job fair.

Recruitment of employees can be a tough road to travel on. There can be plenty of job openings and only a few applicants would show up. By having this job fair, the Volkswagen Group of America would be able to find a number of applicants interested in having a job. To be to further promote the event, the group has also sent in advertisements in various newspapers and journals like the Washington Post, AdWeek, MediaWeek, the Washington Business Journal, Automotive News, BrandWeek, and the Fairfax Times. Advertisements were also sent in to radio stations to help broadcast the upcoming event.

The Volkswagen Group of America is in need of a number of employees for they would be expanding their offices and would also be moving their corporate headquarters in the United States to Virginia from Michigan. Beamish said, “We offer very competitive benefits, not the least of which is a great employee vehicle lease program.”
