The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) latest crash test results for 2001 model year vehicles are now available on the agency's World Wide Web site: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov./

For frontal impact, the Chrysler Sebring convertible, Ford Mustang two-door, Honda Accord two-door, Mazda Miata convertible, Chevrolet Malibu four-door, Honda Accord four-door, Hyundai Elantra four-door, Lexus IS300 four-door, Mazda Protegé four-door, Nissan Sentra four-door, Pontiac Grand Prix four-door, Toyota Avalon four-door, Toyota Echo four-door, Chevrolet Suburban 4x4 four-door utility, Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 four-door utility, Dodge Durango 4x4 four-door utility, GMC Yukon 4x4 four-door utility, GMC Yukon XL 4x4 four-door utility, Lexus RX300 4x4 four-door utility, Mitsubishi Montero Sport 4x4 four-door utility, Pontiac Aztek 4x4 four-door utility, and the Dodge Dakota 4x2 four-door pickup are rated.

For side impact, the Ford Mustang convertible, Honda Insight two-door, Mercury Cougar two-door, Honda Civic four-door, Lexus RX300 4x4 four-door utility, Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 four-door utility, Subaru Forester 4x4 four-door utility, and the Dodge Dakota 4x2 four-door pickup are rated.

For both frontal and side impact, the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) reports crash test results in a range of one to five stars, with five stars showing the best crash protection for vehicles. Frontal tests should be compared only within the same weight class.
