MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (May 13, 2016) - Officials from Rette Jones Racing (RJR) announced today that the Mooresville, North Carolina-based team will field a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entry for third-generation Jesse Little in next Friday night’s NC Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.

For his first truck run of the 2016 season, Rette Jones Racing has formed a technical alliance with Sandusky Ohio’s ThorSport Racing with the two teams working closely together throughout the week in preparation for Little’s fifth career NCWTS start and first at the 1.5-mile speedway.

The Carolina Nut Co. who backed Little in his NCWTS debut last year at Dover (Del.) International Speedway will reprise their role and support the 19-year-old in his series return since the season-finale at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway last November.

For more than 60 years The Carolina Nut Co. has used unique handcrafted family recipes to create gourmet nut flavors for every nut lover. Located in Henderson, N.C., The Carolina Nut Co. is a family-owned company that is spreading its delicious nut creations throughout the nation.

“I’m excited to finally announce my return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series,” said Little. “I’m extremely appreciative of this opportunity with Rette Jones Racing and ThorSport Racing for the chance to compete at Charlotte Motor Speedway next weekend. We’ve work hard over the past couple of months putting our No. 30 The Carolina Nut Co. Toyota Tundra together with hopes we can go to Charlotte and have a successful night.

“I can’t begin to express what it means to me to have The Carolina Nut Co. supporting me in my truck return. We didn’t get the outcome we wanted last year at Dover, but this is a new opportunity to deliver and everyone at Rette Jones Racing is determined to do so.”

Little, the son of former NASCAR driver Chad Little began his racing career in quarter midgets at the age of seven. Moving through the ranks, he moved up to Bandoleros in 2007 and Legends cars two years later. In 2010, Little won the USAC Eastern Focus Young Guns midget car championship and in 2011 competed in the UARA Stars Late Model Series where he enjoyed success.

The following year, Little, then 15 made history by becoming the youngest driver to compete in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, making his series debut at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway. In 43 races overall, he has collected two wins, three poles, 12 top-fives and 20 top-10 finishes overall.

Little is also a current member of the NASCAR Next program. An evolution of the Next9 initiative that began in 2011, the NASCAR Next program is an all-embracing industry initiative to help spotlight the sport’s rising stars – and boost fan recognition around talent that will grow into NASCAR Sprint Cup Series mainstays.

In four truck starts, Little owns a best finish of 14th at Homestead. In addition to Dover, he has additional starts at Chicagoland Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway respectively.

For Rette Jones Racing team owner Mark Rette, the team’s ability to continue to field a part-time entry in the NCWTS is vital to the long-term overall platform for the 17-month old organization.

“Jesse is an unbelievable talent,” said Rette. “I’ve been around him a lot and he can get the job done. For us, it just made sense to put this program together for Jesse and build on this new partnership with ThorSport Racing. Undoubtedly with their success and accolades on the race track, it’s something for our organization to stride for. We’re looking forward to Charlotte and what’s ahead after that and hope we can turn some heads along the way.”

The No. 30 Toyota Tundra will carry additional support from Performance Friction Brakes, Racing Electronics, Penske Shocks, Mac’s Speed Shop, Russo’s Tinting and Goodridge Fluid Transfer Systems as associate marketing partners.

In addition to his limited NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule, Little will also run select NASCAR K&N Pro Series East events also under the Rette Jones Racing banner.
