Abarth have released details of two new models for the UK market - the 595 Turismo and Competizione.

Based on the Fiat 500 the Abarth 500 is already available but Abarth thought they would spice things up a bit with the 595 which with comes with a 160bhp version of the turbocharged 1.4 T-jet engine.

The Abarth 595 is named for the original Abarth 595 SS from 1964.

The Turismo costs £19,025 and comes with the 160bhp engine, a Turismo pack, upgraded dampers, leather seats, 17 inch wheels, xenon headlights and red brake callipers.

The Competizione costs £20,025 and comes with a Competizione pack, upgraded dampers, cross drilled brake disks, Sabelt seats, Monza exhaust, 17 inch wheels, xenon headlights and red brake calipers.

The Competizione is obviously aimed at the sportier driver with the Sabelt seats and Monza exhaust and as such is the version we would have.

But - have a look at the photos and see if you agree - we can't help thinking the front of the 595 looks quite a lot like a Tuscan raider from Star Wars.

Good looking little car with lots of extras but comes at a price.
