DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (February 12, 2011) - - Sean Corr, who will make his second consecutive start at the “World Center of Racing”, Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway roared his No. 82 Empire Racing LLC. Ford Fusion into the top-10 during ARCA’s final practice Saturday morning.

Corr, who will roll off from the 27th position later today produced the seventh fastest lap overall with a time of 48.398 seconds or 185.958 miles per hour. The Mooresville, North Carolina-based team was one of five Ford Fusions to place into the top-10 during the forty-five minute practice session at the 2.5-mile superspeedway.

“We didn’t do any drafting on Thursday, so we knew that we needed to go out there this morning to see what we had,” said Corr, a native of Goshen, New York. “Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the car. The Empire Racing team has thrashed a lot over the past couple of weeks in order to give me the opportunity to race today. Hopefully, we can have a good day, stay out of trouble and be a contender near the end.”

Corr will be guided Saturday afternoon by 2010 Daytona 500 champion spotter Keith Barnwell who assisted Jamie McMurray in capturing the biggest NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) win of his career. Corr is hoping for good things with Barnwell today.

“Keith has a lot of experience and he is well respected in the NASCAR community, so I’m looking forward to working with him during the race,” said Corr, who will make his 11th career start in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards today. “I think with his expertise and my ability behind the wheel, I think we have an excellent shot at finding ourselves in victory lane!

Former NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) driver Richard Johns will serve as Corr’s crew chief, while John Bellesfield will hold the reins as team manager to kick off ARCA’s 59th year of competition.

The Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona (80 laps / 200 miles) is the first of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 48th ARCA race held at Daytona is a three-day show. The event will take the green flag later today shortly after 4:30 p.m. The race will be televised live on SPEED with additional race coverage including live timing and scoring and radio broadcast through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com. All times are local.
