(Concord, NC) April 12, 2008 -- Rookie Tom Hessert III piloted the #1 MAACO/Boudreaux’s Buttpaste Ford to a 4th place qualifying effort for Andy Belmont Motorsports at Salem Speedway today, resulting in his first career 2nd row ARCA start. Just six days ago this race team was here at Salem testing and a mechanical failure resulted in the primary car being wrecked, a setback that could have been detrimental-to another team perhaps.

“All the cars we prepare are good,” said Andy Belmont. “This car was actually faster that the car we wrecked here on Sunday. I’ve got a great crew at the shop that knows how to do their job and prepare good cars. We never got a chance to get a clean run in today during practice because the track so was congested, but I knew we have a fast car and we did. We came here to do our job and not concern ourselves with everything else going on around us with our competition. We go out and do our job and get results.”

“We were fairly confident we could post a good lap,” said Hessert. “The guys at the shop did an excellent job putting this car together. I consider Salem one of my favorite tracks and we’re just going to go out and do our best for a good run tomorrow.”
