RANDLEMAN, North Carolina (March 23, 2012) - - After dishing out a pair of top-10 finishes in his inaugural debut at Southern National (N.C.) Motorsports Park last weekend, Randleman, North Carolina native Ryan Wilson and his Ryan Wilson Motorsports (RWM) team turn their attention towards’ this weekend’s season-opener at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway.

It goes without saying that Wilson in his No. 12 Southern Pharmacy Services / Randolph Bank Toyota Camry are considered a pre-race favorite leaning into the weekend.

And for good reason. Caraway is dubbed as Wilson’s home track and with the team raising their own personal stakes in the competition department; the team led by crew chief Kirk Bryant are looking for nothing less than a flawless performance.

An effort that the team has in mind is not out of the playing cards for Sunday afternoon’s contest, but the RWM team knows that a lot is on the line in the Caraway Speedway season-opener and with an aggressive 250-lap contest on deck, lady luck will also have to be on the family-owned team’s side.

“We had decent runs last weekend at Southern National. Even though we didn’t get the finish we wanted to in the first race, our No. 12 Southern Pharmacy Services / Randolph Bank Toyota Camry was competitive and that’s the momentum that our team needs as we move forward this year.”

When asked about the hefty-race on tap for Sunday, Wilson knows that it will be a challenge, but one that he feels that his team will be able to prevail.

“This race will be no joke and we’re expecting some really strong competition -- but we’re ready for whatever challenges we may face,” sounded Wilson, the 2010 fall winner of Richard Petty Driver Search II. “We’re testing on Friday, so we have to use that time to our advantage – then when qualifying rolls around on Saturday, we have to capitalize on that and get ourselves a strong starting position for the race.”

He added, “When that green flag waives on Sunday, we have to keep the fenders on our No. 12 Southern Pharmacy Services / Randolph Bank Toyota Camry for all 250 laps. It’s a long race, so patience will be important. We have to be able to fine-tune our car when push comes to shove and if luck is riding with us, we hope to be near the front and have a shot at victory.”

The 20-year old also wasn’t shy to convey that his team still has sponsorship opportunities available for Sunday’s anticipated thriller and for the remainder of the team’s aggressive 2012 Late Model schedule.

“As always, we’re thrilled and appreciative to have the support of Southern Pharmacy Services and Randolph Bank on our Toyota Camry – but we still have some room on the car if someone wants to jump aboard,” Wilson sounded. “This is a team with a lot of passionate and drive, and anyone who joins our team will be greatly appreciated.”

Action begins at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway on Friday, March 23 with practice beginning later in the day. Saturday’s agenda begins with additional practice at 10:00 a.m. sharp and qualifying by 2:30 p.m. that afternoon. The Spring Classic 500 is set to roar the following day, Sunday March 25 shortly after 2:00 p.m.
