BRISTOL, Tennessee (August 22, 2011) - - After a brief break, Stuart, Florida native Bryan Silas will return to racing competition when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) takes on the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” with the running of the O’Reilly 200 on Wednesday night.

Silas, debuting in his T3R entry behind the wheel of the No. 9 Rockingham Speedway Ford F-150 will attempt to make his 16th career start, his third of the 2011 season and his third overall at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway (BMS).

“There’s nothing like Bristol,” said Silas, who also has been competing in the ARCA Racing Series and USARacing Pro Cup Series this season. “It’s a place that makes you just gasp. To have the opportunity to race there is a privilege and I’m excited to do it again.”

Silas’s previous starts at BMS occurred back in 2007 and 2008 when Silas was spreading his wings in the world of Motorsports. Aware that the track is known for its rough demeanor on equipment and driver, Silas returns to the track with an open-mind and realistic goals.

“We’re going to have to qualify our way into the race,” said Silas. “I’ve already had to do it this year and we’ve been successful. There isn’t a reason in my mind that if we can get our No. 9 Rockingham Speedway Ford F-150 driving comfortably, that we won’t be in the show.

The guy that will lead Silas this week is a familiar face often seen competing with the Floridian. Cal Boprey has spent this year as Silas’s USAR crew chief. This weekend though, he steps up to the plate in what can be considered his biggest race to date with the 24-year old Silas.

“I have a lot of faith in Cal,” added Silas. “We’ve had success together throughout my career. When I was asked to drive the Chase Mattoili Racing truck at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway in May, Cal was the man with a plan. Together, we would like to build on what we accomplished at Charlotte and maybe turn some heads.”

He added, “Realistically, if we can qualify on time and finish somewhere in the top-20, I’d be satisfied. Bristol’s a tough race. Anything can happen there.”

Silas will continue to sport the logo of Rockingham Speedway on his blue oval this week. The North Carolina-short track has surged into the spotlight recently with the announcement that it will obtain soft walls otherwise known as the SAFER barriers this fall.

The O’Reilly 200 is the 16th event on the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule. A fifty minute practice session is set from 10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. An hour and a half final practice resumes at 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Qualifying is set to launch at 4:35 p.m. with the green flag expected to waive shortly after 8:00 p.m. live on SPEED. The race will also be broadcasted through the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (satellite channel 90). All times are local.
