MASCS WELL REPRESENTED IN ACS RUN/WALK AT ROAD AMERICA

Mid American Stock Car Series
November 1, 2010

FORT ATKINSON, Wis. (November 1, 2010) – For the fourth consecutive season the Mid-American Stock Car Series was represented in the American Cancer Society Run/Walk at Road America on Saturday Oct 30. Series co-owner Julie Strasburg acted as the top representative of the MASCS.

Strasburg teamed with drivers and team members from Travis Rodewald's crew under the banner of the Mid-American Marauders, named by series starter Dave Sankey four seasons ago.

The team consisted of eight adults and two children including: Strasburg, Travis, Cassie, Curt, Heather, Austin, Madeline, Paul, Dustin, Zoie.

"The day was an absolutely beautiful fall day at Road America, one of the most senic race facilities in the country," Strasburg said.

Mid-American originally became involved in the Run/Walk in 2007 when the series joined the ACS to host a race after the event. Although the series has not participated the past two seasons, Strasburg found it important to stay involved.

“Nearly everyone has been affected by the word cancer, either personally, through relatives or friends,” Strasburg said. “The American Cancer Society is a very well known worthy cause continually working with the medical research to bring about a cure for the dreaded disease. I’m really happy to keep the series involved with such a great organization.”

The Mid-American Marauders chopped six minutes off their walk time last season, crossing the line in one hour and five minutes.

Thanks to donations from fans, teams and sponsors, the Mid-American Marauders raised $650, well over their original goal of $500.

Mid-American hosts its 2010 awards banquet on Saturday, January 15 at the Wintergreen Resort and Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
