INDIANTOWN, Florida (November 12, 2007) - - Sophomore-bound ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) driver Patrick Sheltra commented on Friday’s announcement of the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule which will consist of 21 events through 13 states and two Countries. Sheltra will be looking to better his 2007 seventh place championship points finish beginning with the 2008 ARCA season opener at Daytona International Speedway in February.

The 2008 ARS schedule will be a diverse combination of superspeedways, short tracks, dirt tracks and a return to road course racing for the first time since 2001 will all help steer the tour into its 56th consecutive season of competition.

PATRICK SHELTRA, NO. 60 CP CONCRETE PRODUCTS, US CONSTRUCTION, SAWHORSE OUTFITTERS, BRADY RANCH AND FLORAGANICS CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO SS

SHELTRA: (ON THE 2008 ARCA RE/MAX SERIES SCHEDULE) “It’s a very diverse schedule and for the ARCA RE/MAX Series that is a subject they’ve always promoted. I’m looking forward to my second full-year of ARCA competition and feel that the 21-race schedule is justified in making the ’08 season one of the best ARCA seasons ever recorded.”

SHELTRA: (ON 21 RACES IN 2008 COMPARED TO 23 RACES THIS YEAR) “I’ll admit I’m disappointed that weren’t not racing 23 events next year but I understand why. I want to give a huge nod to the entire ARCA staff for putting together a very competitive schedule next year. Just because two races have been erased from the calendar doesn’t mean that everyone won’t be as busy. I’m very anxious to get the 2008 season underway.”

SHELTRA: (ON THE ADDITION OF ROCKINGHAM SPEEDWAY) “Like I said last week, I think it’s a great thing for the ARCA RE/MAX Series to visit a historic track like Rockingham Speedway. The track is now owned by a former ARCA champion and that has to say a lot for the ARCA series. We are building a brand-new car for the race and I feel we’ll have an excellent chance of being crowned the first “ Carolina 500” champion.”

SHELTRA: (ON THE ADDITION OF CAYUGA SPEEDWAY PARK ) ”It really says something about the ARCA RE/MAX Series to be competing in another Country. Everyone expected the Canada race to be a road course and to our surprise it’s a short track. I’m not complaining. The race will be very interesting and I expect a huge car count. I think we’re going to see a bunch of Canadian drivers flock to the event which fits back to the diverse category with it all eventually bringing exposure back to us. It may be a little more expensive to compete in Canada , but I think it will be a huge pay off and everyone at Sheltra Motorsports is looking forward to it.”

SHELTRA: (ON THE ADDITION OF NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK ) “Cool. It’s going to be interesting to say the least. I’ve never had any experience on a road course, so we’ll take some extra measures in 2008 to prepare for that. We’re probably going to test at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) and I’m planning on taking a road course school, so I’m taking every advantage I can to help prepare myself for the inaugural event. I’ve read some information on the track and it really seems like it’s going to be a great facility. It’s a new challenge for me, but everyone knows I don’t mind a challenge. New Jersey here we come!”

SHELTRA: (ON THE ABSENCE OF USA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY, THE FIRST NASHVILLE EVENT, WINCHESTER SPEEDWAY, THE MILWAUKEE MILE AND GATEWAY INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY FROM THE ’08 SCHEDULE) “I am not going to lie, I am disappointed in some of those tracks not being on the 2008 schedule. I’m glad that we’ll race Nashville at least once, but tracks like Winchester Speedway and The Milwaukee Mile were facilities that Sheltra Motorsports was looking forward to going back to next year. In the end, we’re not going back to four unique tracks and we lost a race at Nashville and it’s a shame. I hope that some of those tracks will return to ARCA again in the near future.”

SHELTRA: (DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING LINED UP TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE 2007 ARCA SCHEDULE TO 2008?) “Oh yeah. We’re going to be back in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for sure next year. You can expect us to compete in some races between the two-month break from February to April. I’m also looking at the NASCAR Nationwide Series for 2008 as well in addition to some dirt racing with my Indiana-based Sheltra Motorsports team. I’ll be busy, there’s no hiding that.”
