BRISTOL, Tennessee (August 21, 2008) - - With an off weekend in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, veteran racecar driver Mike Harmon returns to Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) with an agenda.

First, Harmon looks to make his 12th NASCAR Nationwide Series start of the season in Friday night’s Food City 250. Second, Harmon looks to finish the race at a track that nearly took his life in a practice incident in August of 2002.

Harmon, the Birmingport, Alabama native can’t rattle the memories of the near-fatal wreck six years ago, but Harmon continues to march forward and looks to put his No. 84 Chevrolet in the hunt under the Friday night lights at BMS.

“The memories are good and bad here,” said Harmon, who competes full time in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. “I’ll never forget the incident in 2002, but I’m also thankful that I was able to walk away from it and race here again. Bristol is one of my favorite tracks on the circuit, so that’s why I continue to come back. I’m really excited about this weekend, so while some will be recapping the incident six years ago, I’m thinking ahead to Friday night.”

Harmon has good reason to be excited about Friday night. Mike Harmon Racing (MHR) is proud to welcome Cajun Industries onboard as the primary sponsor on the team’s No. 84 entry this weekend.

Cajun Industries was founded in 1973 as a merit shop company specializing in structural concrete. Today, Cajun Industries is a nationally recognized construction leader providing a broad range of services to various markets, including government works, water quality, power, manufacturing and industrial.

As a specialty contractor in heavy civil, mechanical and deep foundation construction, customers rely on Cajun’s meticulously maintained equipment, proven project management procedures and sound financial resources for excellent results. Cajun Industries also have an extensive heavy equipment fleet that enables them to self perform more than 80 percent of even the most complex projects.

“It’s a real treat for us to have Cajun Industries onboard this weekend at Bristol ,” stated Harmon who is gunning for his seventh career NNS start at Bristol Motor Speedway. “This is a big race for Mike Harmon Racing and we’re excited to have a caliber sponsor like Cajun Industries aboard and we’re hoping for a good run under the lights Friday night.”

Additionally, Stone Mountain Realty and Sugar Hollow Retreat have latched aboard as associate sponsors for the 26th NASCAR Nationwide Series event of the season.

“It’s great to have all this support going into a race like Bristol ,” continued Harmon. “Sponsorship is really tough with the economy in a rumble, but I’m extremely appreciative and thankful for their support of our race team. I hope to make it up to them with a solid run this weekend.”

With a best finish of 23rd at the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile”, Harmon enters the Food City 250 with a conservative outlook but with a mission in mind.

“It’s been a while since I’ve had a good finish at Bristol , I would like to change that stat on Friday night,” sounded Harmon. “We have to get in the show. There is a bunch of cars expected to be at Bristol this weekend, so we have to qualify our way in. I’m confident we can do that. Once that’s complete, we can focus on the race. Patience and staying out of the wrecks are critical. If we can finish in the top-20, we’ll be happy.”

Bottom line, Harmon is hoping his 111th career NASCAR start is a fun one.

The Food City 250 is set for Friday, August 22nd with the green flag scheduled to waive shortly after 7:30 p.m. live on ESPN and the Performance Racing Network (Radio). The race will also be available via Sirius satellite radio channel 128.

In addition to running a majority of the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Schedule, Harmon has been running the full ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule behind the wheel of his No. 24 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. Currently, Harmon sits 21st in the championship standings.
