On opening practice:

“It’s fantastic here. I want more. I want to go faster! It’s one of those places that you look up to for so many years and when you get a chance to finally drive on it, it’s pretty special. I’m really looking forward to racing here. We’ve had a pretty good test day and got a good feel for the track, the car, and all the nuances to the track. Now we just have to come back ready to try to win the thing at the end of the month. This track has too many details and to get a full day of testing in is very valuable to us to try to learn all the little tricks to this place and there sure are a lot of them too. This place might look simple and straightforward but it’s not at all. We definitely built some confidence today and I think we have a really good race car. We probably need to work a little more on a good qualifying set up for the no.28 Le Blue car but hopefully our test at Milwaukee next week will help with get us prepared for that too.”

On seeing his car run for the first time at Indianapolis:
“I have to say that I was really proud to see the no.28 Le Bleu car roll out to pit lane and hit the track for the first time. This track is just so special. Having competed here and knowing what this place means,it is really neat for me to see a Bryan Herta Autosport car out on track at Indy. From a testing perspective I think it when well. I think we learned some valuable things. James (Davison) has had some experience here while Daniel (Herrington) is new to the oval here and they both did a great job of getting acclimated and going through a test plan we completed for both cars. We have another test coming up in Milwaukee and a little time to think about what we learned here. Hopefully we’ll come back even stronger at the end of the month.”
