LAKEVILLE, Minnesota (December 10, 2011) - - Officials from Lakeville, Minnesota-based Win-Tron Racing announced today that 17-year old Mason Mingus has been tapped to drive the No. 32 Call 811 Before You Dig Toyota Camry in a minimum of seven short track contests in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards next season.

Mingus, a native of Brentwood, Tennessee will make his 2012 debut in the second race of the year when the ARCA Racing Series tackles Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway for the running of the Mobile ARCA 200 on Saturday, March 10.

The Champion Racing Association (CRA) Super Late Model Series veteran linked with the potent Win-Tron Racing this past September at Salem (Ind.) Speedway for the running of the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic by Federated Car Care. After mounting extremely competitive lap times in practice, Mingus’ ARCA debut was botched by misfortune.

A new year means new chances for the former competitor in the Ken-Ten Series and he is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to climb behind the No. 32 Call 811 Before You Dig Toyota Camry and prove that he can get the job done.

“I’m excited about teaming up again with Win-Tron Racing in 2012,” said Mingus. “They are undoubtedly a great organization who have proven that they can win. We had some bad luck at Salem, but that’s in the past’ and we’re looking forward to getting back on the track and having a chance at putting our No. 32 Call 811 Before You Dig Toyota Camry in victory lane.”

He added, “I really think the ARCA Racing Series is going to be a great stepping stone for me,” Mingus mentioned. “The cars are a lot heavier and react different from what I’ve been accustomed to, but I believe with the support and guidance of Nate (Thiesse, co-car owner) and Mike (Chaffee, crew chief), they are going to help me achieve the personal goals I’ve set for myself.”

Returning with Mason will be Call 811 Before You Dig as the primary marketing partner on the team’s No. 32 entries.

811 is the new number you should call before you begin any digging project. A new, federally-mandated national "Call Before You Dig" number, 811 was created to help protect you from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines while working on digging projects. People digging often make risky assumptions about whether or not they should get their utility lines marked due to concerns about project delays, costs and previous calls about other projects. These assumptions can be life-threatening.

Every digging job requires a call – even small projects like planting trees or shrubs. If you hit an underground utility line while digging, you can harm yourself or those around you, disrupt service to an entire neighborhood and potentially be responsible for fines and repair costs.

Thiesse, who’s well-known in the ARCA garage for searching and breeding new talent into the series isn’t shy to talk about the reunion.

“Mason personifies all the characteristics and devotion that we are looking for in new talent,” Thiesse explained. “He has a bright future ahead of him in stock cars and we look to the races he’ll be competing in to help him achieve not only his personal goals but spread the word about Call 811 Before You Dig and its importance.

Over the years, we’ve been able to take a number of drivers from across the United States to victory lane and with a little bit of experience and finesse, Mason will hopefully have that same opportunity. We’re thirsty for 2012 to arrive so we can get him behind the wheel and do what we know what how to do.”

In addition to Call 811 Before You Dig, Diamond Equipment has leaped aboard the team as an associate marketing partner for Mingus’s attempts for the upcoming season.
