Reference Desk: 1962 Ford Galaxie Scale Model & 1959 Cadillac Brougham

Cleaning out some accounts I found that Matt wrote a while back:

Hello Mr. Crittenden,

My name is Matt and I found your site by accident while google searching for a car and is actually the reason I'm contacting you now. I was looking for pics of a 1972 ford Galaxie and I clicked on a pic that I assumed was of a real car.

When it linked me to your site and I realized it was not a real car but in fact a model my jaw dropped so hard I broke my keyboard.

This holds great importance to me as I own two real life Galaxies that my father and I are in the process of restoring.

I just have to ask you sir where on earth did you find a model of a 1972 Ford Galaxie?? And where can I get one?

-Matt

At the time I replied, "It was at a model car club meeting in Crystal Lake.  Someone else brought the model to the meeting, I don't remember who.  It looks like a 'promotional' model that dealerships used to give away to customers, but it's been painted by someone who knows what they're doing.  If I see it again, I'll make sure and find out who did it."

And Matt sent back: "That would be very much appreciated. I build model cars too and Iv been searching everywhere and the closest I can get is a 1970 and that's actually a police car kit.  Again, thank you for your time and I hope to see your work in person sometime.  If your interested the car craft world of wheels is coming to the excel energy center and they have a model car contest too.  So if your in St Paul in February stop by. Nothing big but there was some cool stuff last year.  -M"

So, does anyone know a bit about Ford Galaxie model kits (the 1972 in particular) that I can post as a reference for Matt and anyone else who might be interested in building a model Ford Galaxie?

Wolfgang writes, "I own number 26 and have the advertising info but it's tough to get in depth information.  Maybe management didn't care for the car when it came from Italy. You rarely see any articles written on this particular model.  Any info would be helpful."

Can anyone find anything I can republish or pass along to Wolfgang on 1959 Cadillac Broughams?
