The Kraco Car Stereo Racing Team has taken on a completely new look for the July 18 Norton-Michigan 500.  In a continuing effort to be strong contenders in the CART/PPG series, Kraco sent to England for a new March 82K.  At the same time, Kraco's Maury Kraines, announced that veteran Mike Mosley would be the driver for all remaining oval track races.

"Although this was to be a learning year for us, we certainly wanted to enter each race with a competitive car," said Kraines.  "We feel the new March will put us right in the thick of things and that Mosley, with his experience in ground effects, will be a definite plus for us."

Mosley is scheduled to test the new March extensively with two days at the Indianapolis Speedway, July 6-7, and again at Michigan International Speedway prior to the Michigan 500.

Mosley, a native of Oklahoma City who now resides in Fallbrook, Calif. with his wife Alice and son Michael II, started driving three-quarter midgets in 1961 and later drove midgets and sprint cars.

Mosley, now 35, passed his Indy 500 rookie test in 1967 and the following year he finished eighth in his first start at the Speedway.

Five Indy-car victories have been logged by Mosley, with the first coming April 25, 1981 at the Trenton 200.  Two of his triumphs came when he charged from the very back of the field to victory.  In 1974, he established a USAC first by going from last on the grid to a win in the Phoenix 150.  He duplicated the fete last year at Milwaukee.

"I'm really looking forward to driving for the Kraco team," said Mosley.  "Their purchase of a new March shows they are anxious to be winners and that's sure what its all about."

Austailian Vern Schuppan, fresh from a fine second-place finish for Porsche at LeMans, will continue to drive all the road courses for the Kraco Car Stereo Team.
