SALEM, Indiana (March 31, 2009) - - Shelby Township, Michigan native Robb Brent has 17 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit. While tackling some of the best tracks on the ARCA circuit, Brent hasn’t experienced the pleasure of competing at the rigorous Salem Speedway but that fact will change this weekend as Brent will compete in just his sixth career short track race in Sunday’s Kentuckian Ford Dealers 200 by Federated Car Care.

Brent recently signed onto Justin Allgaier Motorsports ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule and after missing the show at Daytona International Speedway, the team is eager to bounce back and return to a familiar place at Salem Speedway, victory lane.

For Brent, he’s thankful that what appeared to be a bleak racing season ahead has nourished into an opportunity of lifetime.

“I’m just excited to be in a car,” said Brent, who will continue his studies at Northwood University pursing his Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Marketing / Business Management while negotiating a 21-race schedule in ARCA.

“Salem is definitely an interesting place,” Brent admitted. “We spent some time up there testing last week and it will surely help when the action begins this weekend. I’ve been able to get the lowdown from Justin and Mike (Allgaier) so I’m pretty pumped about racing on Sunday.”

With a 13th holding at Brent’s personal best on a short track, the 22-year old driver is craving his first top-10 and he easily recognizes if he survives Salem his mission will be accomplished.

“We know that we’re behind the eight-ball after missing the show at Daytona, but we’re not going down without a fight. There is only one way to go from here, up. Our goal is to go out there every week and try to win races and earn as many points as we can. If we can do that, we will be looking good,” he said.

New for Salem , Brent will have a new crew chief calling the shots in the name of Bobby Blount. Blount, hailing from Indiana has a long-standing presence in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. His son, Chad is a former ARCA RE/MAX Series Rookie of the Year in 2002.

“I’m looking forward to working with Bobby,” sounded Brent. “He has a wealth of knowledge about race cars and is hungry to win. I think we’ll be able to work well together and it shouldn’t take us long before we start seeing the results.”

Washington Township, Michigan based Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep will continue it’s long-time association with Brent and serve as the primary sponsor on Brent’s No. 36 Dodge Charger this weekend. Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep has backed Brent since his entrance into racing at the age of 16.

Prior to joining Justin Allgaier Motorsports, Brent participated in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driving for NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski and Brad Keselowski Racing. In his 17 ARCA starts, Brent has acquired two top-five finishes and five top-10 efforts. Brent notched his career best qualifying effort of second at Kentucky Speedway last year. He has led the ARCA RE/MAX Series pack twice for 21 laps in 2008. His best finish in the NCWTS occurred at Nashville Superspeedway in his inaugural truck debut where he finished 21st after qualifying 26th.

The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 by Federated Car Care (200 laps/111 miles) is the second of 22 events on the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 82nd ARCA race held at Salem is a two-day show. Practice begins Saturday, April 4 with an hour and a half practice session planned from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is set for later in the day slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. The event will take the green flag on Sunday, April 5 shortly after 2:15 p.m. The race will be broadcasted live through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com.
