Toyota Says Production Back to Normal after Disasters

VOA Breaking News

Toyota Motor Company reports that its production in Japan has for the first time returned to levels from before the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

Dozens of Toyota plants across Japan were forced to shut down in the aftermath of the twin disasters, disrupting supply chains and slowing down manufacturing at Toyota facilities overseas, including the United States.

The automaker initially said production would not return to normal until later this year, but gradually accelerated the target date in subsequent statements.
