18 Killed in Chinese Roadside Collision

VOA Breaking News (Voice of America)

A collision between a van and a trailer truck in northern China has killed 18 people and injured many others.

Chinese media say the accident took place early Sunday on a highway near Zhangjiakou city in Habei province.

Local police say the van carrying 34 migrant workers slammed into a trailer that was parked on the roadside.

Traffic accidents are common in China due to poor enforcement of traffic and security regulations.
