Retailer Revs up Racing Season with Exclusive In-Store Events, Driver Appearances and Incredible Race Day Savings

BENTONVILLE, Ark., April 20, 2011 – As the Pee Dee prepares for Darlington’s upcoming SHOWTIME Southern 500, select Walmart stores in the Pee Dee will host exclusive NASCAR fan events through its new Race Time program starting May 3. Customers are invited to attend these special events and enjoy real stock racing car displays, a special appearance by Dale Earnhardt Jr., and racing simulator machines – perfect to safely get behind the wheel and feel the power of NASCAR – on May 3-6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We’ve found that nearly nine out of 10 NASCAR fans chose to shop at Walmart ,” said Walmart market manager Geno Bell. “We wanted to provide Pee Dee race fans with unique Race Time experiences and unbelievable savings on NASCAR merchandise that you can only find at Walmart.”
