STONE BROTHERS RACING TAKE A ROAD TRIP IN THE LEAD UP TO THE TOWNSVILLE 400

In the lead up to the inaugural Dunlop Townsville 400 event, Shane van Gisbergen and Alex Davison will be travelling 1713kms in a Winnebago Leisure Seeker by Motoco from SBR’s workshop on the Gold Coast to Townsville over five days.

As the series gears up for the new QLD premiere event, the road trip, sponsored by the Autofocus Store will give Shane and Alex the chance to take some time out of their busy schedules to put back into the sport by visiting six regional centres.

Driver appearances and signing sessions will be held in Gladstone and Rockhampton, 3rd, Sarina, 4th, Mackay, 5th, Ayr and Charters Towers, 7th.

“I moved to QLD permanently last year from New Zealand and love the lifestyle. I haven’t really had time to see much of the state so this trip will give us the opportunity to stop over at a few places and see what Nth QLD has to offer,” said Shane van Gisbergen, the youngest driver in the Championship Series.

“When we travel to race meetings we really only get to see the airport and race tracks so this road trip will be a great way to head into the first Townsville event. The race will be fantastic, I know every driver in the series is looking forward to it. It will be great for Shane and I to get some local support especially from those who are unable to make it to the event,” said Alex Davison, currently 13th in the Championship.

Fresh from its podium finish in Darwin, the IRWIN Racing Falcon will also be on display at various venues giving fans a chance to see the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar up close. Selected merchandise items will also be available and prizes and giveaways will be up for grabs.

Families are encouraged to come along over the school holidays to wish Shane and Alex well as they head to Townsville for the three-day racing event.
