Gil De Ferran Wins IndyCar Series Chevy 500

Gil De Ferran of Brazil has won the IRL, IndyCar Series Chevy 500 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Scott Dixon of New Zealand was second but won the IRL series title for the year. The race was shortened by five laps due to a serious injury to Swedish driver Kenny Brack.

Earlier Sunday, German driver Michael Schumacher clinched an unprecedented sixth Formula One season title by finishing 8th at the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka. Schumacher finished with 93 points, two in front of Finland's Kimi Raikkonen.

Schumacher's Ferrari teammate, Ruebens Barrichello of Brazil finished first in the Japanese Grand Prix, the last Formula One race of the season. He averaged almost 217 kilometers per hour, finishing in one hour, 25 minutes and 11 seconds.
