North Carolina Native To Drive Second Carter-2-Motorsports Entry

SPARTA, Kentucky (May 10, 2007) - - Kentucky marks a busy weekend for Carter-2-Motorsports. In addition to fielding the team’s primary entry for rookie Nick Tucker, the organization will debut their second team this weekend with Mocksville , North Carolina native Dan Brode behind the wheel.

Brode, under the guidance of Roger Carter II plans to make his ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) debut behind the wheel of the No. 67 Tucson Dodge Charger. Brode will remain with the group as a development driver for the remainder of the 2007 season.

The 22-year old doesn’t come to the ARS empty-handed. The well-known late model racer from North Carolina has experience in an ARCA car at an open test session at Daytona International Speedway last December. Brode knows that Daytona and Kentucky don’t match and the seventh race of the season is a whole new ball game but he readies the challenge.

“First, let me say this is an opportunity of a lifetime,” he said. “I am very excited to be go ARCA racing with Carter-2-Motorsports. I’ve spent a lot of time with the team recently and I feel right now this is a perfect fit. The team is very excited about having two teams. I truly think it will only help us grow. I know I have a lot to learn, but that’s why I am surrounded by racing experts who will try and make me a successful rookie, I can’t wait to climb into the car on Saturday.”

Brode will work side-by-side with teammate Nick Tucker who has experience at the 1.5-mile track which will play a benefit to the newcomer. “Nick is a great guy and a true competitor,” Brode said. “His experience at Kentucky no doubt will help everyone on this team this weekend. I plan to stay glued to Nick as much as possible; I know he’ll help me make my ARCA debut as successful as it can be.”

Car owner Roger Carter II sees talent in his young drivers and is confident about Saturday’s Buckle-Up Kentucky 150. “We’re going to Kentucky with a talented bunch,” he explained. “Nick has done a great job with the No. 48 FreeFeds.org Dodge this season and I’m looking forward to seeing Dan gather seat time and be a spectacle in the ARCA RE/MAX Series for a long time to come.”

Scott Spellman will serve as crew chief on the No. 67 machine this weekend and his knowledge brings relief to Brode. “Everyone is teaching me a lot, but Scott and I communicate well together. He is the leader of this bunch this weekend. I know he wants to see great things from not only me but this team this weekend and that’s what I plan to do.”

With no provisionals or points to fall back on, Brode knows he must make the stout field on time in preparation for the 14th event held at the Northern Kentucky based facility.

“Learn, learn and learn, that’s the goal in practice. Wide open is the word for qualifying and finish is the mission for Saturday night. I know it’s going to be a tough field to make and a tough race, but we feel like we have a chance, otherwise we wouldn’t be going.”

Carter-2-Motorsports (www.carter2motorsports.com) whose ARCA RE/MAX Series operation is based in Statesville , North Carolina will run Dodge Chargers in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Nextel Cup Series (NNC) in 2007. The team will run the No. 48 handed over from the legendary James Hylton who retired from ARCA competition following the 2006 season finale at the new Iowa Speedway. The organization will also run a second ARCA team part time this season utilizing the No. 67. The organization also plans to run the No. 54 in the premier series of NASCAR, the NNC series later this year.

The Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 (100 laps/150 miles) is the seventh of 23 events on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The event is a one-day show. Practice begins Saturday, May 12 with a two hour (10:30am-12:00pm Local Time) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is slated for later in the afternoon at 4:00pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag under the lights beginning at 8:00pm Local Time. The event will not be televised. However, race coverage can be found online at arcaracing.com
