Brazilian driver Rubens Barrichello has grabbed the pole position for Sunday's British Grand Prix Formula One auto race after a rare qualifying error by German teammate Michael Schumacher.

Schumacher was inside Barrichello's time when he went off the course at the exit to Abbey Curve and slipped back to fifth place.  Barrichello won his second pole of the season with a time of 1:21.209 minutes on the Silverstone circuit.

Barrichello will share the front row with Italian Jarno Trulli, who finished second.  Finland's Kimi Raikkonen, who trails Michael Schumacher by eight points in the season standings, qualified third with Ralf Schumacher of Germany finishing fourth.

Michael Schumacher won the British race last year in wet conditions with Barrichello in second.
