Vehicle Model
A car produced by Mercury. Based on the Ford Taurus. It has been available in sedan and station wagon versions.
Awards and acknowledgements include:
Sables equipped with 3.8L engines and registered in one of the following states: Alaska, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming from model years 1991-1995 were recalled by the NHTSA because Water can accumulate within the speed control cable conduit. If enough water accumulates, it could freeze within a low area of the cable routing when exposed to below freezing temperatures (NHTSA recall 97V025000, GM Campaign No. Ford Campaign No. 97S65).
Sables equipped with 3.0L, 2.3L, and 3.8L engines and registered in one of the following states: Alaska, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota from model years 1992-1995 were recalled by the NHTSA because during high winds, heavy, drifting snow, and low temperatures, the engine cooling fan can become blocked or frozen with snow. The fan motor may not rotate and could overheat (NHTSA recall 97V019000, Ford Campaign No. 97S66).
