A trade group of automobile manufacturers organized on December 3, 1900 in New York City.
The first officers of the Association as elected in December 1900 were:

First Vice President John H. Flagler
Second Vice President J. Wesley Allison
Treasurer D.S. Walker
Secretary E.P. Wells
