Honest Jim's Used Cars "Honest Jim's Used Cars"
From "The Baddest Town in America," January 31, 2005: "Hogan’s Alley? Oh yeah, it’s a hot bed of terrorist and criminal activity. Its only bank is robbed at least twice a week. Mobsters and drug dealers lurk around every corner. Exactly the way we want it. We put Hogan’s Alley on the map in 1987 to provide a realistic training ground for our new agents. It’s located on 10+ acres at our Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Today, we share the mock town with new DEA recruits, as well as with state, local, federal, and global partners at the Academy for training. How realistic is Hogan’s Alley? Very. We built it with the help of Hollywood set designers. Like many small towns, it’s got a bank, a post office, a hotel, a laundromat, a barber shop, a pool hall, homes, shops, and more. There’s a constant flow of people and traffic. You can even get a bite to eat at the local deli. But don’t look too closely. The cars parked outside “Honest Jim’s” aren’t really for sale, although a contract painter once tried to buy one..."

FBI Armored Vehicle Birmingham
In cities across the country, FBI staff and FBI Citizens’ Academy Alumni members took to the streets on August 3, 2010 to participate in the 27th Annual National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime.” This year, FBI staff in multiple field offices, including Buffalo, Birmingham, Milwaukee, Chicago and Springfield, participated in the event, distributing Child ID Kits and other crime prevention materials. The National Night Out campaign is intended to promote neighborhood spirit and positive relationships with law enforcement, as neighborhoods come together to heighten awareness for drug and crime prevention and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and vigilant. At this year’s event in Birmingham, youth got a chance to visit with the FBI SWAT team (above).

FBI Armored Vehicle Denver
On September 22, 2012, the FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBINCAAA)—in coordination with the Denver FBI office—sponsored a community event at Denver’s Mile High Stadium to raise awareness about human trafficking. During the day, the FBINCAAA assembled more than 200 recovery kits to be given to victims of human trafficking and child prostitution, and multiple law enforcement agencies and nonprofit organizations represented at the event donated personal and clothing items to be included in the kits such as toothbrushes, soap, and socks. Youngsters had the opportunity to try on FBI SWAT gear and Denver Police Department bomb suits, and go inside an FBI armored vehicle (pictured above). They also took part in a mini-football camp. The rock band known as The Fray performed during the event.

FBI Trunk-or-Treat Springfield
“Trunk-or-Treat,” held the in parking lot of First Christian Church in Jacksonville, Illinois, offers families a safe alternative to trick-or-treating. Rather than going door to door, children walk car to car though the Halloween-themed lot, trunk-or-treating along the way. More than 1,200 children and parents attended this year’s event, and FBI Springfield Community Outreach Specialist Brad Ware was on hand to distribute Child ID Kits and Child ID App brochures to parents.

FBI Mobile Command Post Chicago
The 2014 Rockford Airfest got off to a high-flying start thanks to some help from the FBI Chicago Field Office. Three SWAT team members made a special appearance during “Make A Wish Day” at the festival on June 6, 2014. The agents met with 25 children and their families from the Make A Wish foundation. The children got an up close look at some of the gear the SWAT team uses. Some of them even got to try on a vest or a helmet. Afterwards, the group took a tour of the FBI Mobile Command Post that was on site during the Airfest (above). Parents also received information about the FBI’s Child ID App.
