Police in Bangladesh say at least 13 people were killed Saturday in two separate collisions involving trains and buses.

The first accident occurred when an express train hit a bus at a crossing in Jessore district, killing five people and injuring 20 others.

Later Saturday, eight people were killed and 25 were injured when a train rammed a bus in Comilla district east of the capital, Dhaka.
