Start seeing motorcycles

Gus Philpott
The Woodstock Advocate
August 1, 2010

On the way to Chicago on U.S. 14 yesterday I passed by a sign alerting drivers to motorcycles, and I stopped on the way home to take this picture.

It's in Des Plaines (Ill.), near Des Plaines Honda, a large motorcycle dealer.

As a busy dealership, there would be many motorcyclists entering and leaving its driveway. It doesn't enjoy the setback or front driveway of Northwest Honda in Crystal Lake or of Woodstock Harley-Davidson on Route 47 in (where else?) Woodstock. Approaching drivers have a very limited view of motorcyclists trying to exit the dealership.

Three cheers, and thanks, to IDOT for installing this important warning sign.

Due to the enormous volume of information available most of the lists on the site are works in progress.  They are great for seeing what information or products are available or what events have happened but the absence of information or a line item on a list should not be interpreted that something did not exist or did not happen.  It probably just means we haven't gotten around to adding it yet.
