Salem Speedway Recap: In his seventh career ARCA Racing Series start at Salem (Ind.) Speedway, Indiantown, Florida native Patrick Sheltra finished fourth after leading 39 laps in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 presented by ApplianceZone.com last Sunday. Sheltra qualified 15th but with his second top-five finish of the year, Sheltra remains one of only two drivers to finish in the top-10 in all three ARCA Racing Series events thus far in 2010.

Welcome To The Lone Star State: 23-year old driver Patrick Sheltra will make his first career start at the extremely fast 1.5-mile speedway of Texas Motor Speedway Friday evening. Sheltra Motorsports, led by crew chief Jon Wolfe tested at the Fort Worth, Texas facility in March and unofficially posted the ninth fastest lap.

A Familiar Voice: Veteran spotter and former ARCA Racing Series driver Jason Jarrett will spot for Sheltra in Friday night’s Rattlesnake 150. Jarrett, the son of two-time Daytona 500 champion and former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Dale Jarrett spotted for Sheltra in his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway in 2007. Jarrett also guided Sheltra to a stout fifth place run in the season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

So Glad To Have You Here: Sheltra Motorsports officially welcomes Bethany Young to the organization. Young will serve as the Director of Marketing for the fourth-year ARCA team. She will work with current marketing team members Chris Knight and Steve Howell. A native of Fallston, Maryland, Young resides in Mooresville, North Carolina. She has worked for multiple teams in the marketing arena which included tenure at Hendrick Motorsports.

A Challenge From Pops: Should Sheltra score a win in Friday’s ARCA Racing Series event at Texas Motor Speedway or next Friday at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, father Rick Sheltra will purchase a new boat for his son to enjoy during his summer-down time at Sheltra’s new home in Cornelius, North Carolina. The challenge started at Salem (Ind.) Speedway last weekend.

Patrick Sheltra ARCA Career At-A-Glance: Entering Texas, Sheltra has 70 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards starts to his credit with one career victory at Salem Speedway (April 2009). During his ARCA tenure, Sheltra has accumulated 12 top-fives and posted 25 top-10 finishes. A third place qualifying effort at Rockingham Speedway (April 2009) is Sheltra’s best time trials efforts to date. He has controlled the ARCA field six times for 148 laps.

Are You In The Know?: Patrick Sheltra and Sheltra Motorsports are proud to be apart of the Facebook and Twitter cravings. If you have an account, join our club as the Sheltra Motorsports team drives towards winning the 2010 ARCA Racing Series championship.

Nice Stat: So far in 2010, Sheltra is joined by only one other driver who has scored three top-10 finishes in all three races this season. With the ARCA Racing Series pro fifth place finish at Daytona, a 10th place performance at Palm Beach and most recently a fourth place run at Salem Speedway last Sunday, Steve Arpin is the only other competitor who has also finished inside the top-10 in the three of 20 events so far this season.

Point’s Check: Three races down, 17 to go, Sheltra with the guidance of crew chief Jon Wolfe sits third in the ARCA Racing Series championship standings just 35 markers behind current leaders Justin Marks and Steve Arpin. Mother and car owner Grace Sheltra locks the third position in the ARS car owner standings, just 35 credits from the top-spot held by Kevin Cywinski (No. 32).

Sheltra Motorsports, Texas Motor Speedway Pre-Race Quotes: Patrick Sheltra, driver of the No. 60 Recycling Services-Buffalo Wings & Rings Toyota Camry.

On Salem Speedway: “We had an incredible car at Salem. The boys on the Sheltra Motorsports team really gave me a hot rod. We tried going for the win but made some contact with the leader and it hurt our chances for a repeat victory. Overall though – we’ll take the fourth place finish and hope to return to victory lane again in September.”

On Texas Motor Speedway: “It’s definitely a fast track. The key to winning the race at Texas will be a smart driver, a good handling car and a stout motor. We have those components so if we can keep ourselves out of trouble, we should be in contention for a good run.”

On Spotter Jason Jarrett: “It’s such a privilege to work with someone like Jason Jarrett. He is so crisp and clear on the radio – it really makes my job a little easier. I’ve always been a fan of his spotting ways – I’m just glad to have him back with us here at Texas.”

On The Addition Of Bethany Young: “It’s a great move for Sheltra Motorsports. We’re always looking to land a company a new home in motorsports and with the addition of Bethany, I think we’ll be able to deliver that ten-fold. With her connections, enthusiasm and desire she fits right in with the team.”

On Points: “We didn’t gain any points last weekend – but we didn’t lose any either. It’s pretty clear that Justin Marks and Steve Arpin will be some of the major contenders that will be chasing all year long. We just need to keep the strong finishes going and hope that the points will follow with the results.

Sheltra Motorsports, Texas Motor Speedway Pre-Race Quotes: Grace Sheltra, owner of the No. 60 Recycling Services-Buffalo Wings & Rings Toyota Camry.

On Salem Speedway “We’re very satisfied with the team’s performance at Salem. We came from mid-pack, led the race and found ourselves in contention for the win. We weren’t able to seal the deal but still finishing fourth keeps our team in the spotlight and in the championship battle.

On Texas Motor Speedway: “Texas is really a new chess game for the ARCA Racing Series. All but two drivers have ever competed at the 1.5-mile speedway. There is little doubt that the race will be anything less than exciting. Hopefully Patrick will be in victory lane Friday night celebrating his first career win on a speedway.”

On The 2010 Season Thus Far: “The team as a whole has done a phenomenal job. The team has glued together very well this year and everyone gives 110 percent every weekend. That’s all we can ask for. We just need to keep going and hope with our confidence and determination – wins will soon follow.”
