JOLIET, Illinois (August 28, 2009)--Despite menacing gray skies, the ARCA RE/MAX Series was able to fit in qualifying at Chicagoland Speedway on Friday afternoon, where Steve Arpin in the No.25 Jeff Taylor Motorsports Toyota posted the 5th fastest time among 38 drivers with a time of 30.674/176.045 mph. Arpin will start on the inside of row three for the Ansell Cut Protection 150, which rolls off at 5:30 p.m. Central/6:30 p.m. Eastern Live on Speed.

"I'm very happy with our qualifying run" said Arpin. "It started to rain while I was out doing my qualifying lap and I felt the car get pretty loose in the corner, so I let up just a little bit to keep from wrecking in qualifying. That cost us just enough time to fall back to 5th place. We have been at the top of the board every time we have been on the track at Chicagoland and I am very excited for the race.I would love to get my first win here in Chicago."

Friday's qualifying session at Chicagoland was delayed by 15 minutes after track and series officials altered the schedule to accommodate for weather and the associated track drying needs. A Friday morning practice session was scratched due to rain and Thursday's schedule was altered by Mother Nature as well.

The Ansell Cut Protection 150 rolls off at 5:30 p.m. Central and is live on SPEED at 6:30 p.m. Eastern. Live timing and scoring and audio will be available on arcaracing.com
