TALLADEGA, AL (03-24-10) - Venturini Motorsports headed to Talladega Superspeedway with 5 cars for the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards open test session. For the second time this season, Venturini Motorsports will be fielding five cars for drivers Steve Arpin, Mikey Kile, Alli Owens, Mark Thompson, and John Wes Townley. Not only has Venturini Motorsports hit the record books once for fielding the most cars in an ARCA Series race, but now twice.

The two-day open test at the 2.66-mile tri-oval speedway was on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 23 and 24th.

After delays on Tuesday morning due to rain showers the night before, the team spent the first day fine tuning the cars and working on single car runs.

“All five of Venturini's cars were at the top of the charts and that is what we expected. We felt confident coming into test and we feel very confident going into the race,” said Owens.

Venturini Motorsports took advantage of the two-day test session and used the Wednesday morning session for single car runs and the afternoon session for draft runs.

With five drivers in the Venturini Motorsports lineup, the team took the top five positions with Steve Arpin leading the team. Arpin was followed by teammates John Wes Townley, Mark Thompson, Mikey Kile, and Alli Owens.

Steve Arpin, driver of the no. 55 Venturini Motorsports Toyota, was the quickest at the two-day test session running a top speed of 190.66 mph and a time of 50.224.

"The open test is a true testimate to the hard work and long hours that the Venturini guys have put into this program. We have five really good cars and that shows in the speed charts,” said Arpin. “My car was better in drafting than single car runs and drafting was our main focus today. We have made leaps and bounds from where we were in Daytona and I really look forward to coming back here in April."

Billy Venturini, competition director at VMS, was pleased with the progress all the teams made at Talladega.

Championship contender, Mikey Kile, noted on the success that Venturini Motorsports brings, “It is pretty neat when your team brings five cars to the test and all five cars were quickest all day. We are 100% at test sessions this year!"

The unstoppable domination that Venturini Motorsports has proven during the test session is sure to show success at upcoming ARCA Series races in April.

Venturini Motorsports will return back to the shop in Concord, NC to prepare for the busy month of April for the three consecutive weekends of racing at Salem Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, and Talladega Superspeedway.

Venturini Motorsports will travel to Salem Speedway on April 11th for the third ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards event. The 200-lap race will begin at 2:15 PM and will be featured in live streaming audio at ARCARacing.com.

The ARCA 250 at Talladega Superspeedway will be live on SPEED at 5:00pm ET on April 23rd.
