FOREIGN CAR FIRM GIVEN HOT BLAST

Publication: MotoRacing
Date: 21 October 1955
Topic: National Imported Car Dealers Association

NEW YORK, Oct. 21.—Executive committee of the National Imported Car Dealers Association has condemned the actions of representatives of a manufacturer of a foreign car who, the committee revealed, are seeking to invade the American market by using restrictive tactics that would outlaw the sale of other makes of cars.

NICDA disclosed that rank-and-file members have registered complaints that they are being “pressured” into dropping valuable franchises under threat of losing the franchise to sell a low-priced, foreign-built car.

NICDA has been urged by dealer members to investigate possibilities of seeking recourse in the offices of the U. S. Attorney General and the Interstate Commerce Commission.
