Some of the most exiting and elegant sports cars are produced by Lamborghini or often officially known as Automobili Lamborghini. The company has produced some legendary cars like The Diablo, Countach and the Murcielago. Some of the interesting facts about Lamborghini that may seem interesting are as follows. Fact 1: The car Lamborghini was named after the founder of the company, named Ferruccio Lamborghini (1916-1993). At the age of 47 he founded the company in 1963. originally the factory was built on a small location in Italy, a village called Sant’Agata Bolognese near Bologna..

Fact 2: Before Ferruccio Lamborghini getting an interest in the production of sports cars he was a tractor manufacturer, a successful tractor manufacturer. He bought many high-performance sports cars because of his interest and liking for them. He bought both Maseratis and Ferraris, but he was never happy with them. He did not, like them much and thus started to produce one of his own. Fact 3: In the early days of the company it used to be an independent company, but today is a part of German company named Audi AG. The Audi took the ownership of Lamborghini back in 1998. When the company went bankrupt in 1978 Chysler brought the company before its ownership was finally transferred to Audi. Fact 4: Le Mans version of the Murcielago R-GT is the fastest Lamborghini which has a top speed of 370 mph. and the fastest street Lamborghini is the Murcielago LP640, with the top speed of 340 mph. Both these cars consist of V12 engine having 6000cc. Fact 5: The scissor doors are very common among the Lamborghinis, the Diablo, the Countach and the Murcielago all of these cars have scissor doors that rotate up and frontward on a pivot near the front door. Gallardo doesn’t have any scissor doors. Fact 6: You must be really astonished to know that no Lamborghini has been produced with the engine less than V8. All the newest Lamborghinis have V12 engine except the Gallardo it has a V10 engine. The production of V8 engines stopped since 1998 since the production of Silhouette stopped. Fact 7: The first ever Lamborghini that was produced in 1963 was 350GTV and it had a top speed of 280 km/h. the first Lamborghini that went past the 300 Km/h was the Countach. Fact 8: In 1975 super power Countach models were produced on the persuasion of Walter Wolf who was a wealthy Canadian businessman and F1 racing team owner.
