MIAMI, Florida (November 16, 2009) - - In his final racing event of the 2009 season, Stuart, Florida native Bryan Silas is gearing up for his fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start of the season. This weekend, however will be Silas’s first tango at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the site of the 2009 NCWTS season finale for Friday’s Ford 200.

Silas, driver of the No. 48 Rockingham Speedway-Polar Bear 150 Chevrolet Silverado, resides about two and a half hours north of the 1.5-mile speedway and has several goals in mind for the 25th race of the year but more importantly, he is hoping to have a strong run that will leave an impression and linger with the tour during the off-season.

The 22-year old attempted to make his truck debut at HMS in 2007 but didn’t advance to the feature. Now, the wiser and more experienced driver is banking on his previous experience at Homestead to play into his hands. Ultimately, this young-gun is also banking on his successful and impressive intermediate performances in the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX this year to be a driving factor towards his second top-20 NCWTS finish of the year.

“I’m looking forward to going back to Homestead this weekend,” said Silas, who drives for 1995 ARCA champion Andy Hillenburg. “I wasn’t able to make the show here a couple years ago but I’ve learned immensely since then. We’re guaranteed into the show on Friday night, so our goal this week won’t necessarily be keen on qualifying but rather the race instead.”

Silas continued, “The competition in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is no joke. These guys don’t play around. They are dropping the hammer from the moment the green flag waves and it’s no reluctance until the checkered flag flies. As an upcoming driver like myself, I take that as a good thing. I have to be focused and driven to run hard. Hopefully at the end of the night, we’re sitting right where we want to be. Finishing the race on the lead lap, inside the top-20 is a reachable goal for our Fast Track Racing team on Friday night.”

The Rockingham Speedway logo will again adorn Silas’s Chevrolet for the 13-year old series but the team will utilize the season-closing event to promote the upcoming Polar Bear 150, a street-stock event pioneered by nine-time ARCA Champion Frank Kimmel.

“We didn’t have the performance we were looking for at Texas Motor Speedway a couple weeks ago,” offered Silas. “Homestead’s our chance to again promote and make up to Frank (Kimmel) and his posse how big of a deal the Polar Bear 150 really is. He did a tremendous job promoting and hosting the event last year and I am dedicated to bringing further awareness about the event and hopefully drive some exposure to bring the fans to “The Rock” for the race being held on New Year’s Day 2010!”

In his 10 previous NASCAR truck starts, Silas has scored a career-best finish of 16th notched in the 2009 season opener at Daytona International Speedway. He also led one lap in that event. In addition to Daytona, Silas has competed at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway respectively in 2009.

Friday’s Ford 200 is set for Friday, November 20, 2009 with a scheduled liftoff time of 8:00 p.m. Eastern. The event will be televised on SPEED with additional broadcasting coverage available through the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and XM-Sirius Satellite Radio channel 128.
